Grey sky

I am the grey sky
and “you are the light”, mom told me
The sun is there even when I can’t see
“and I can see the light
on your grey sky”

These hand-crafted ceramic vessels draw inspiration from the warmth of the sun and the ever-shifting tones of the sky. Swirls of golden yellow, soft gray, sky blue, and porcelain white mimic the interplay of sunlight breaking through clouds at dawn or dusk. The organic marbled pattern wraps around the rounded form, evoking a sense of movement and light, much like the way sunlight dances through the atmosphere. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, capturing the quiet, radiant beauty of nature’s daily cycle.

Crafted with the intention of connecting you to the raw texture of clay—the essence of the Earth—this piece was left unglazed on the exterior to preserve its natural feel. Minor internal cracks are present but do not go through; they’ve been thoughtfully repaired using the traditional kintsugi method, highlighted with genuine silver powder to honor the beauty in imperfection.

*Kintsugi, meaning “golden joinery” or “golden repair,” is the Japanese art of mending broken pottery using urushi lacquer and powdered gold or silver. Rooted in the wabi-sabi philosophy, it celebrates the beauty of imperfection, impermanence, and incompleteness—both in objects and in ourselves. Each crack tells a story, and through repair, the piece becomes even more unique and beautiful—just like us, shaped by our journeys and transformations.
