beyond duality explores the space in between where contrast doesn’t divide, but deepens.

Through form, surface, and imperfection, the work resists “either/or,” and instead honors complexity, fluidity, and coexistence.

This planter explores the relationship between community and individuality. The checkered pattern references systems of categorization and how identities are boxed and labeled, yet each remains distinct. Together, the forms connect to create something larger and beautiful, where uniqueness is not erased, but celebrated.

Made with black, white and brown clay body. It was left unglazed and fired to cone 10 reduction.
